Breast Surgery Payment Options Sydney

When patients are considering Breast Surgery in Sydney, a question as to costs always arises. The following description lists the individual cost components that make up the total cost of a breast surgery procedure:

  • Surgical Fee – this is your Plastic Surgeon’s fee for performing the surgery.
  • Hospital Fee – independently charged by the hospital and based either on time in theatre, or type of surgery basis. Your Plastic Surgeon can estimate this cost only when you have had a detailed consultation and they have determined exactly what needs to be done and approximately how long it will take.
  • Anaesthetist’s Fee – anaesthetists charge on an hourly basis. Accordingly, this cost can only be approximated when our Plastic Surgeon has estimated the time required for your procedure.
  • Assistant’s Fee only included when your procedure requires the services of an Assistant Surgeon. This too, can only be estimated when you’ve had the consultation with our Plastic Surgeon.
  • Breast Implants if your procedure requires the insertion or replacement of breast implants. Implant cost will depend on the brand and type. Although breast implant brands vary in cost, the Plastic Surgeons at Breast Excellence only ever use brands of breast implants they consider are the highest quality, safe, and will best deliver the look you’re after. Rest assured, we are not a clinic that will use whichever brand of implant delivers the best profit margin!  Furthermore, at Breast Excellence, we are very transparent and will only ever charge you what we pay for your Breast Implants!
  • Breast Implant ‘Sizers’ – sometimes required by your Plastic Surgeon for use during your surgery to ascertain which implant size will best achieve the ‘look’ you’re after. If ‘sizers’ are recommended by your Plastic Surgeon, they will explain why the use of ‘sizers’ will permit more certainty of implant choice during your procedure.
  • Post-Operative Support Garment always required after breast surgery. The style, size, and brand of garment will be determined by our Plastic Surgeon at your consultation.
  • Prescriptions medications will need to be purchased in advance to be at hand for your post-operative recovery.
  • Pre-Operative Investigations in the form of blood tests, Mammogram, Breast Ultrasound, or Breast MRI, may be necessary in the lead up to surgery.

As you have probably already gathered by now, at Breast Excellence, we don’t use a ‘one-size-fits-all’ or ‘cookie-cutter’ approach to breast surgery.

Whilst we aim to provide affordable pricing for patients, we will never compromise quality and patient safety.

The three most common questions we receive about costs are:

  1. Breast Implant Cost: ‘What is the cost of breast implants?’
  2. Breast Lift Cost in Australia: ‘How much for a breast lift?’
  3. Breast Reduction Surgery Cost: ‘What do you charge for a breast reduction?’

Patients looking for quality and less risk will often ask ‘Do you provide payment plans?’ or ‘Do you offer finance?’ The answer to this question is always ‘No’ because by National Law, cosmetic and plastic surgery clinics are not permitted to offer Payment Plans or Finance.

The Medical Board of Australia has published specific guidelines for registered medical practitioners who perform cosmetic surgery.

Specifically, Clause 13.4 states:

13.4 The medical practitioner must not offer, promote or recommend financing schemes to patients, either directly or through a third party, such as loans or commercial payment plans, as part of the cosmetic surgery. This does not preclude a practitioner from informing patients of accepted payment methods such as credit cards (such as Visa, Mastercard), buy now, pay-later products (such as Afterpay, Openpay, Zip Pay) or from offering the option to pay for cosmetic surgery in instalments in a non-commercial payment arrangement between the medical practitioner and patient.

In compliance with the National Law, Breast Excellence advises that it  accepts the following forms of payment:

  • Cash
  • Direct Deposit
  • Direct Instalments to our clinic (interest-free, but full payment needs to be completed prior to the procedure)
  • Debit Cards and Credit Cards – Visa, Mastercard and Amex only.
  • Buy Now, Pay Later – TLC, Handypay.
