Dr Pouria Moradi

Specialist Plastic Surgeon

  • MBBS BSc (Med) MRCS (Eng) FRACS (Plas)
  • (Specialist Registration Number MED0001185885)

After graduating in Medicine from the University of NSW in 2002, Dr Moradi furthered his surgical career by being awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2005, followed by Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in 2011.

Although Dr Moradi trained predominantly in Australia, he has also worked extensively in specialist surgical units in England, Scotland, Belgium, and Sweden to acquire the skills to deliver high-quality results to his patients.

Dr Moradi’s special interest and skills in cosmetic and plastic surgery have earned Dr Moradi a reputation as one of Australia’s leading Plastic Surgeons and a valued Mentor of newly graduated Plastic Surgeons.

When not working or teaching other plastic surgeons, Dr Moradi enjoys playing golf, travel, and spending time with his family.

Dr Moradi’s Book, ‘Normal’: After seeing in practice so many women and girls bombarded with Insta images of the perfect face and body, Dr Moradi started thinking about his conflicting roles as a father of daughters and a plastic surgeon, and how he could teach his daughters to be confident in their own skin.

So, in 2023, Dr Moradi published a book titled ‘Normal’.

‘Normal’ encourages teens and their parents to examine the media images and social pressures that blur the lines between ideal and real. In his book, Dr Moradi give parents, family, and friends a tool to help raise body-positive girls, providing them with facts about different bodies and what is “normal”.

‘Normal’ will help parents and young people make sure that if they decide to change their appearance, that decision is made from a positive and thought-through place, rather than from a desire to be something they are not.

The purpose of his book is to educate and empower young women to reclaim their self-esteem, to know that how they look is not their fault, that beauty is about confidence, not perfection. As Dr Moradi tells his daughters in his letter to them: “Try your best to tune out the negative noise and focus instead on taking healthy life choices, including education, nutrition, and exercise.”

A Personal Note from Dr Moradi:

Making the choice to undergo surgery is an incredibly personal decision and when choosing your surgeon, it should be someone who is dedicated to achieving the best possible results for their patients.

I pride myself on hard work and dedication and strive for perfection. This has been something ingrained into me from a young age. As a teenager, I devoted countless hours towards playing tennis; waking up at the crack of dawn to run to the courts, with my father following behind me in the car, to practice before the school day began. This led me to becoming a state champion but more importantly, these attributes have followed me throughout my career.

Dedicated to my patients, I place an emphasis on finding the best surgical solution for a patient’s situation. During a consultation, I will listen to you and use my strong academic and clinical background to educate you on what can be accomplished through surgery. Completing part of my residency in the UK, I have been fortunate enough to work with renowned surgeons from across the globe. I use this diverse range of knowledge and experience to benefit my patients by tailoring a procedure for their unique goals.

Outside of my practice, I’m proud to be a consultant at Prince of Wales Hospital, Royal Hospital for Women, and Sydney Children’s Hospital, at which hospitals where I predominantly perform microsurgical reconstruction for breast and facial cancer patients. Being able to donate my time and experience is far more valuable and rewarding than a monetary donation could ever be.
